FEASIBILITY STUDY ON ESTABLISHING BACHELOR OF SCIENCE IN ACCOUNTING INFORMATION SYSTEM AT INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL OF ASIA AND THE PACIFIC

The increasing demand for professional’s adept in both accounting and information system has prompted educational institutions to explore the feasibility of establishing specialized programs. This feasibility study explores the establishment of a Bachelor of Science in Accounting Information System at International School of Asia and the Pacific. This program seeks to bridge the gap between accounting and information technology, equipping students with essential skills for the modern business environment. The study assesses the adequacy of required resources, including administrative support, faculty qualifications, library resources, laboratory facilities, and overall physical infrastructure. The study employs a descriptive survey methodology, gathering insights from twenty- eight (28) respondents, including administrative staff and faculty members, to evaluate the readiness and capability of the institution to offer this program. Data analysis utilizes statistical tools such as frequency count, percentage distribution, and weighted mean to provide a comprehensive understanding of current resource availability and potential gaps. The findings indicate a positive response towards the new program, highlighting sufficient administrative support, qualified faculty availability, and the adequacy of existing library and laboratory facilities. However, recommendations emphasize the enhancement of physical infrastructure to fully support the programs successful implementation. The findings serve as valuable guide for institutional planning, highlighting both strengths to build upon and critical areas requiring investment. This feasibility study underscores the importance of a well- rounded resource base to ensure the quality and sustainability of the proposed Bachelor of Science in Accounting Information System program, ultimately aiming to produce graduates equipped with the integrated skills necessary to excel in the evolving landscape of accounting and information technology.
