UNMASKED (UNVEIL, NURTURED INTERPERSONAL BONDS, MASTERED EMOTIONAL MATURITY, AVENUE FOR EMOTIONAL CONNECTION, SELF-DISCOVERY, KEEN DECISION MAKING, EMBRACED VULNERABILITY, DEVELOPMENTAL OPPORTUNITIES): UNCOVERING THE IMPACT OF CAMP OF COLORS

Abstract

The research investigates the impact of the Camp of Colors to the Fourth-year students of MCNP-ISAP who experienced and finished the off-campus activity. The study aims to explore whether the experiences in the COC has contributed to their over-all growth as being. The study adopted a qualitative research approach for a deeper insight and exploration of the experiences of the participants. The subject of this study was fourth year college students of MCNP-ISAP students who attended and finished camp of colors, face-to-face with the used of purposive sampling. A semi-structured interview was conducted to twenty-five (25) conversational partners who finished the Camp of colors in all different courses in the institution. The majority of it was conducted via face-face interview but due to some circumstances a few conversational partners were interviewed via video call online. Upon interpreting the data, the researchers analyzed and clustered all the data gathered and led in to eighth (8) emergent themes which are: Unveil, Nurtured interpersonal bonds, Mastered emotional maturity, Avenue for emotional connection, Self- discovery, Keen decision making, Embraced vulnerability, and Developmental opportunities which then lead in to a central theme "UNMASKED" and this became the central phenomenon of the study. This study provides evidence supporting the positive impact of the Camp of Colors on the personal growth of the students. The enactment of such off-campus activities to the institution has become evident to be an effective way for the students to show what’s within them that able to help them in enhancing their potentials as well as developing their social, emotional, and personal growth.
